Frank L. Babcock was born February 7, 1876 in Jordan, New York and was the son of Charles and Beda (Baker) Babcock.

Enlisted January 13, 1899 in Syracuse, New York. Served as a Corporal in Company "D", 13th Regiment, U. S. Infantry. discharged January 18, 1902 in San Francisco, California. He received a pension on Certificate 883 993.

He married Bessie on July 31, 1902 in Seattle, Washington. When he applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home in December 1937, he was 62 years old and he had three children living: Albert L. Babcock, 34; Mrs. Chiquita Pattterson, 25; and Virgina Babcock, age 15. They lived at 114 Fidaldo in Seattle.

Mr. Babcock stated that he was five foot six inches tall and had a medium complexion. He had lived continuously in the state since 1902.

He passed away at Retsil on October 26, 1939 at the age of 63 years. He was buried on October 30 in the Home cemetery. He was survived by his wife Bessie.

Frank L. Babcock, Spanish American War veteran, died Wednesday, October 26, at the Retsil Hospital after a long illness, although he had been up and about almost to the time of his death.
He was born in Jordan, New York State, February 7, 1876. He served in the Spanish American War in Co. D, 13th U. S. Infantry. He has lived in this state since 1902. He leaves his wife Bessie, a son Albert L. Babcock and two daughters, Miss Virginia Babcock and Mrs. Chiquita Patterson, all of Seattle. He was a member of McKinley Camp, U.S.W.V.
Funeral services will be held in Retsil Monday afternoon in charge of Lewis Chapel of Bremerton. [Bremerton Daily News Searchlight, Oct. 28, 1939, pg. 1]
