Vernon Reese Allmond, age 48, of Cincinnati, passed away on June 3, 2008. He was a cosmetologist for many years in the Cincinnati area. Beloved son of Connie M. Allmond; loving brother of Greg L. Almond of Cincinnati; caring nephew of Leon Rozier; cousin of Sharon Shearer.
Vernon was stabbed to death along with his neighbor Jerald Freedman by Anthony Wayne Scott. Police say Scott, 41, ransacked both victims' apartments at 2521 Hackberry St., then doused their bodies with gasoline and set them on fire before fleeing in Allmond's rental car.
