R. R. Hightower, 81, of Ruston, father of K. C. Hightower of Dodson, died at his home Wednesday, April 3. He was married 62 years ago to Miss Mollie Jane Heard, sister to Bill Heard of Winnfield. His widow and eight children survive him. Before retiring from active duty he was tax assessor of Lincoln Parish for 18 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hightower had visited their son here Wednesday, and at the supper table he died.
