Carole A. Balzarini passed away on Sunday April 18, 2004 in her sleep at the Friedwald Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing after a long illness. She was 61 years old. Mrs. Balzarini was born in Nanticoke, PA, but lived in NYC most of her life. She and her family resided in Rockland County for the past 14 years. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Francis Balzarini in 2002. Carole loved spending time with her family and pets. When she was well she enjoyed crocheting, music, crafts and doing things with her children. She loved working with people and she loved shopping. Carole began her career as a secretary in 1960 at Emigrant Savings Bank where she met her husband Frank. She raised her 5 children and was a homemaker and a wonderful mother. Carole returned to work in the retail field after her children were grown. Carole and Frank were a very happy, loving couple and both of them had a strong will to live and put up a brave fight against their illnesses. Carole is survived by her loving children, Michael Balzarini and his wife Barbara; Lauren Breslow and her husband Russell; Andrea Galfano and her husband Michael; Donna Mazzella and her husband John and Jennifer Balzarini and her fiance Jarrett. Carole was the adoring and beloved grandmother "Nanna" of Matthew and Jonathan Breslow, Frankie Mazzella and Michael and Valerie Galfano. Also surviving is her brother, Stanley Novakoski of Queens, NY. Friends may call Wednesday April 21, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the family owned and operated Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc.
