Half-brother of Ellen O'Neill Dee. She was the daughter of John F. O'Neill, Sr. and his first wife, Mary Trant.
Husband of: Christine Irma Weisse. They married 8 August 1924 in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. The marriage ended in divorce.
Father of: John Weisse "Jack" O'Neill, James Joseph "Jim" O'Neill and Marilyn Louise O'Neill McPhaul
Jerry served in WWI and by the 1920 Census he was a Firefighter for the City of Muncie.
The 1930 Census lists him as a Proprieter of a Cleaning establishement along with his Brother in Law, Jean Pierre "Jack" Weisse, Jr.
His WWII draft registration shows him as being employed with the City of Muncie Fire Department, Station #5.
Papa Jerry died 3 months before I was born. I know very little about him, as the family rarely spoke of him. My dad just gave me some great pictures of him and I will post them as soon as I get them scanned.

Former Fireman Dies at Home
Jerry H. O'Neill, 67, 926 E. Jackson St., died early Saturday morning at his residence after an extended illness. He was a retired member of the Muncie Fire Department, having work for the city 26 years. He retired in 1956.
Mr. O'Neill was a native and life-long resident of Muncie. He served in the Army in World War I. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Delaware Post 19 of the American Legion.
Surviving is the wife, Garnet; two sons, Father James O'Neill, St. Margaret's Parish, Montpelier, and Jack O. O'Neill (actually Jack W. O'Neill), Newtownsquare, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Marily McFall (McPHAUL), San Antonio, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Mrs Roy Love Jr., Muncie; a sister, Mrs Agnes Gaughan, Granite City, Ill.; a brother, Joseph D. O'Neill; and four grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Meeks Mortuary with Msg. E. J. Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the American Legion plot in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Sunday and any time Monday.
