PATRICK FAY, 104, TAKEN BY DEATH
Native of Ireland Came to America at Age of 7
McMINNVILLE, Oct. 2 (Special)
-Death today, after more than 104 years, cliamed Patrick Joseph Fay at his home, approximately seven miles south of here.
Fay was born in Ireland on St. Valentine's day, 1931; came to America when about the age of 7, and early settled with relative in the middle west.
He came to the coast in the early 60's after serving with the commissary department of the Union army in the Civil war, settling in Portland, where for about 20 years, he followed various lines of business; among them that of a baker.

It was while living in Portland Fay married an Oregon girl, Julia Manning, October 1, 1872, and they continued their residence here until 1885, when Fay sold out his baker business and moved to St. Louis, Or. Soon, though he moved back to Portland and then in 1896, moved to McMinnville and lived either in or near the city since that time. Mrs. Fay died last November 7.
There were 13 children, seven deceased. Surviving are four sons, Clarence and Patrick Henry, McMinnville; Thomas Paul and Lawrence, San Francisco; and three daughters, Mrs. Adeline Bunch, Marysville, Cal., and Mrs. Agnes Morgan, Oregon City; and 13 grandchildren and five great-granchildren.
Services will be held at St. James church here Saturday at 10 A. M., with interment in St. James cemetery. Macy and Son morticians, are in charge of funeral arrangements.
