Evelyn M. Anderson, 90 of Lake Preston, died, Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in DeSmet, SD.

Evelyn M. Severson was born June 3, 1919 to Carl and Clara (Rosel) Severson at Lake Preston, SD. Her school years were spent at Erwin, SD. In March of 1940 she married Albert J. Anderson at the North Preston Lutheran Church parsonage in Lake Preston. They celebrated 56 years of marriage and to this union 4 children were born.

Evelyn was employed for many years at the Gamble's Store and Larsen's Market in Lake Preston. She was active in American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star sister, loved to crochet, play whist, worked with Inter-Lakes Community Action and was very active in the Lake Preston Lutheran women's groups.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert, a daughter, Marge,a son-in-law, Kenneth E. Crow and 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church with Pastor Wanda McNeill officiating, burial will be in the East Bethania Lutheran Cemetery at Erwin,SD. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Lake Preston and preceding services at the church.
