|Birth: ||1590, England|
|Death: ||Feb., 1635|
Born about 1590 (aged 45 in 1635). "Zachary Bickewell," aged 45, "Agnis Bickwell his wife," aged 27, "Jno. Bickwell his son," aged 11, and Jno. Kitchin his servant," aged 23, sailed to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on an unnamed ship from Weymouth, Dorsetshire. He settled in Weymouth MA & died before 9 Mar 1636/7.
Married by about 1624 Agnes ____, who was born about 1608 (aged 27 in 1635). She married (2) by 9 Mar 36/7 Richard Rocket & died at Braintree 9 Jul 1643.
Various secondary sources make claims about this family which are not supported by the evidence. For example, the place of origin is sometimes given as Barrington, Somerset, but this is based merely on the appearance of the name "Zacary Bicknell" in a muster roll of 1569 & should be considered no more than a clue.
