Patric James Jeremiah McCarthy of Monument Beach in Bourne, a student, died Oct. 13 in the White Mountains National Forest in Lincoln, N.H. He was 10. Born in Wareham and raised in Bourne, he was a fourth-grader at James F.Peebles Elementary School. He lived in Bourne with his loving family. He loved spending time with his family, hanging out and watching movies. He enjoyed fishing, playing chess, working on the computer and golfing with his grandfather, Jim. He was close to his three sisters. His favorite activity was playing Game Boy and PlayStation. He was active in many sports and was an excellent swimmer. He loved playing hockey and was on Squirt C hockey team in the Cape Cod Canal Youth Hockey League. He spent two years with Cub Scout Pack 44, Den 1, of Pocasset and played soccer and baseball. He liked playing "army," loved dinosaurs and hoped to become a police officer. He loved macaroni and cheese and pizza. Patric is survived by his loving mother, Deanne L. Murray of Buzzards Bay; his father, Stephen J. of Monument Beach; three sisters, Kelley and Sara of Kingston and Skye of Pembroke; one brother, Stephen J. of Monument Beach; his grandparents, Jun and Robert Besaw of Columbus, Ohio; Jeremiah of Estero, Fla., and Shirley of Naples, Fla.; Jacqueline and James E. Murray Jr. of Buzzards Bay; and Roger and Susan Wasen of Columbus, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

HELLO---MY SON PATRIC MCCARTHY WENT MISSING ON OCTOBER 13, 2003 WHILE VACATIONING WITH HIS FATHER-- STEP-MOTHER AND TWO STEP-BROTHERS IN LINCOLN NEW HAMPSHIRE/LOON MOUNTAIN. HIS TENTH BIRTHDAY WAS THE DAY BEFORE--OCTOBER 12, 2003.

IT WAS A MASSIVE SEARCH TO FIND HIM. THE LARGEST IN NH HISTORY. MY SON WAS FOUND DECEASED FIVE DAYS LATER--2.2MILES UP ON LOON MOUNTAIN.
