Husband of Olive Jewel Harvey, they married July 3, 1921 and had 15 children:

Lilburn Jr. (stillborn 1922), Clifton (1923 - 1991), Alvis, Bernice, Donald, Virginia, Kermit, Alberta (1934 - 2010), Harold (1936 - 1990), Glendal, Doris (1941 - 2010), Glendo (1943 - 1966), Jerry, Larry and Judy (1947 - 2006)

Lilburn's residence at the time of death was Russell County, Kentucky.

His obituary from the June 5, 1958 Russell County News:

Mr. Lilburn Sullivan died in Glasgow Hospital Monday, June 2. He had been in ill health for some time due to a heart condition and was taken to the hospital last week. He was 64 years of age.

A son of the late W. M. and Martha Jane Womack Sullivan, he was a veteran of World War I. On July 3, 1921, he was united in marriage to Miss Jewel Harvey and to his union 15 children were born, one of whom died in infancy.

He leaves his wife and the following children Clifton Sullivan of Russell Springs, Alvis Sullivan of Garlin, Bernice Nichols of Plainfield, Indiana, Donald Sullivan of Indianapolis, Virginia Patterson of South Lebanon, Ohio, Kermit Sullivan of Plainfield, Indiana, and Harold, Glendal, Doris Jean, Glendo, Jerry, Larry, and Judy Sullivan, all of Russell Springs.

Also surviving are two brothers and five sisters as follows: Otha Sullivan of Russell Springs, Cashus [should be Cassius] Sullivan of Garlin, Joan [should be Joann] Bryant of Sano, Nancy Alley of Russell Springs, Nora Skaggs of Russell Springs, Rina [should be Rhina] Burton of Russell Springs, and Valeria Hale of Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are also 15 grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends.

Mr. Sullivan spent most of his life in Adair and Russell Counties as a farmer and well-respected citizen, and he had a great interest in leading his children in the right way. He professed faith in Christ in 1949, and lived a true Christian life through the years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Bethel Church, near the Adair-Russell line, conducted by Bro. Otis Wolford. Burial was in the church cemetery with Rippetoe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
