Roy D. "Butch" Bartlett, 69, of Rushville, passed away June 22, 2010 at Methodist Hospital.

Roy was born Nov. 20, 1940 in Rushville to Charles and Stella (Walker) Bartlett, both deceased. He married Ella Lunsford May 10, 1975; she survives.

Butch was a 1960 graduate of Rushville High School & attended High Point University in North Carolina. He had worked at Kennedy Tank in Indianapolis for over 35 years, retiring in 2000. Butch attended Main Street Christian Church, was active on the Parks Board, very active in volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club and had been a volunteer freshman boys' basketball coach several years ago.

Survivors in addition to his wife include daughter, Regina (Neal) Germonprez of Lebanon; brothers, Bill and Richard Bartlett, both of Rushville; sister, Dorothy (Clyde) Leary of Plymouth; and grandchildren, Nicholas Fruits, and Mason, Carter and Elizabeth Germonprez.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby; and sisters, Martha Jean Lockridge and Mildred Stamm.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Sam Davenport officiating.

Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Rush County or Main Street Christian Church.

Butch, remembering those days in Memorial Park & at the Boy's Club in the late 60's & early 70's playing & watching you play basketball. I also remember so many times traveling on Sexton Street & seeing you sitting on the front porch in the 1000 block. So...(Read more)
