His father, John Frakes, was born in 1726 in Valley, Botetourt, Virginia, USA. He died in 1813 in Hardin, KY, USA. He married CATRON. She was born in 1735 in Franklin County, Indiana, USA,. She died in 1820.

JOHN FRAKES WILL
In the name of God, amen. I John Frakes of the county of Harrison and State of Indiana being sick of body but of perfect mind and memory to make and ordain this my last will and testatment. That is to say princially and first of all I give and recommend my soul to Almighty god who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the iscretion of my executors nothing doubting but I shall received and same again through the might power of God in the general resurrection and as touching such my worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form to wit.

First that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as monies can be raise out of my estate by my executor.
Second I give and bequeath to my son Phillip Frakes his heirs and assigns all that portions of the lands that I may die seized of. It being a part of the South East quarter of section numbered thirty three in Township five South of Range three east in the Jeffersonville district, Indiana. To him and his heirs forever.

Reserving to my wife Elizabeth all the rights of Dower and to each of my other children to wit, John Frsakes Jr., Catherine Vandiver, Peter Frakes, Frederick Frakes, Nancy Beanblossom, Conrad Frakes, Sarah Grey, Elizabeth Heon and Mary Stepelton, each one dollar to raise out of my estate also to the heirs of my daughter Kester Brandenburg now deceased the sum of one dollar and I do make constitute and appoint Phillip Frakes executor of my last will and testament ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament witness my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.
