He married Loretta M. Walpole on October 2, 1937 in Indianapolis.
Mr. Arnott was a 1928 graduate of Rensselaer High School. He graduated in 1932 from Purdue University where he received his Bachelor's degree in agriculture and was a member of Acacia fraternity. He had worked as a field agent with Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company for 20 years. He then worked as a Real Estate agent with Benker Realty in Lafayette. He owned and operated Arnott Real Estate and Farm Management from which he retired.
In 1986, he was inducted into the Rensselaer High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Prairie Masonic Lodge # 125 F&AM. He was a member of the Scottish rite, Valley of Indianapolis, and also a member of the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis. His favorite pastime was golf.
Mr. Arnott was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and by his wife, who passed April 2, 2004. He is survived by his son, John (Jan) Arnott of Monticello; daughter, Judy (Bob) Stusrud of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Jeff (Page) Arnott of Mount Carmel, IL, J.R. (Michelle) Arnott of Mattoon, IL; two granddaughters, Wendy (Ron Arndt) Stusrud-Arndt of New York, NY, Katie Stusrud of Washington, DC; and four great-grandchildren.
