He was the young son of Peter and Minerva King, he was not a
Choctaw Indian. He was named after General Albert Sidney Johnston CSA, his fathers Commanding Officer.
There was a mistaken family tale that stated Minerva was a Choctaw. David King, grandson of Peter & Minerve, had a DNA test that did not show any native american blood.
