I am a descendant of Anna Russell Des Cognets (pretty far down the line). Anna was instrumental in documenting my Maternal genealogy from Colonial days; up until 1898 (four years before her death). Without her devoted perseverance, much of my maternal side genealogy would be lost as a result of the Revolutionary War and American Civil War when all records in Stafford County, Virginia were lost. I have closely analyzed her work and have found very few mistakes. Indeed, surprising; she had no fancy tools like you and I have today. Family had spread all over North America.
