David Earl Bedell, 91, Springfield, Mo., passed away Monday June 30, 2008, in Strafford Care Center. David was born November 22, 1916, in Springfield, Mo., to Earnest Bedell and Josie Willard Bedell. He married Mildred Anderson Bedell in 1936. David was the owner/operator of the Drum Key. He played at the Flaming Pit and later the Lamplighter for 25 years. David and Mildred joined the Catholic Church in 1960, and in 1986, renewed their vows in St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sisters and four brothers. David is survived by his nephew, Tommy Bedell, and caregiver, Springfield, Mo.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, in Hazelwood Cemetery, with Father Tom McGann officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Thursday until service time in the funeral home.
