Our beloved one, Julia Chapman Middlebrooks was the third child born in Houston County Ga to Mark and Lizzie Chapman. She received Christ at age 12 and joined the Sandbed Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for decades. She later united in Holy Matrimony to Eugene Middlebrooks who preceded her in death. To this union eight children were born with one preceding her in death. In 1968 following her husbands death Middlebrooks moved to Jacksonville, FL with her daughter and son in law. There she joined the Zion Hope Baptist Church and served faithfully on Deaconess Board #1 and District #14. On the morning of October 13, 1971, Julia Middlebrooks departed this life at St. Luke Hospital in Jacksonville after an illness.
So live that when thy summons comes
To join the innumerable caravan, which
Moves to that mysterious realm where
Each shall take his chamber in the
Silent halls of death.
Thou go not like the quarry slave at
Night, scourged to his dungeon, but,
Sustained and soothed by an unfaltering
Trust, approach thy grave like one who
Wraps the draperies of his couch about
Him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
