Based on enlistment, his service included Muster at Camp Dodge, Council Bluffs,IA. Guard prison at Venton Barracks,Mo until Dec 25,1862. Operations against Ft Pemberton and Greenwood(Mar 13-Apr 5 1863), repulse of Holmes attack on Helena,Ark Jul 4,1863. Union troops were out numbered more than three to one(About 10,000 Confederates) but still held the ground at the end of the day.
