Anna Maria Frank nee Bauer was born on July 13, 1887, in Richardson County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Hans and Mary Bauer. On July 31st of the same year she was baptized in the Lutheran faith by Rev. C.H. Becker.

At the age of three she moved with her parents to a farm near Gladstone, Nebr. She was reared and educated in this community and was there confirmed in the Lutheran Church by Rev. Millies.

On September 4, 1917, she was united in marriage to Carl C. Frank also of Gladstone. This union was blessed with four sons. After living for five years on a farm near there she with her husband and family moved to Chester, where she spent the remaining days of her life. It was here that her husband in 1948 and one son, Lawrence in 1923 preceded her in death.

The deceased enjoyed good health until June of 1956 when she suffered from kidney infection which results in surgery in May of 1957. After recovery she again enjoyed good health until October 9th while visiting her son Leland of Pipestone, Minn. Uremic poisoning developed which resulted in death at 10:30 a.m., October 21st, 1957, at Sioux Valley hospital (sic), Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attained the age of 70 years, 3 months and 8 days.

Mrs. Frank was a communicant member of St. Johns (sic) Lutheran Church in Chester.

She leaves to mourn her passing three sons: LaVere and Marvin of Wichita, Kans.; and Leland of Pipestone, Minn.; four brothers: William and Walter of Fairbury; Elmer of Deshler; and John of Chester; four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. G.O. Kebschull spoke on Malachi 3:17, "And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him." An octet consisting of Orville Heitmann, Walter Poppe, Willis Poppe, E.M. Schroeder, Leora Poppe, Mrs. Alvin Poppe, Mrs. Richard Claybaker, and Elaine Vorderstrasse sang "What a friend we have in Jesus,, (sic) and "Asleep in Jesus." Pallbearers were John Flathman, Jr., Fred Kapperman, Henry Kapperman, Richard Claybaker, Charles Kuhlmann, and Leonard Kuhlmann. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery (sic). Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home of Chester was in charge.
