Arvil Omer Shockley, 89, Lawson MO, passed away Monday, September 20 2010 at the Liberty Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 2pm Friday, September 24 2010 at the Lawson Assembly of God Church. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Thursday at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson. Burial will be in the Lawson Cemetery.

Arvil was born on March 17 1921 in Rural Central Missouri the son of Dolpha Omer and Minnie Isophene (Crider) Shockley. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. He worked in heavy construction before retiring in 1983.

Survivors include his wife Juanita (Kronk) Shockley of the home; 5 daughters: Sue Padgett, Vicki Brock and husband Dallas, Darla Johnson and her husband Martin, all of Lawson, Sonda Minnick of Richmond, Karen Pollard of Oklahoma City OK; one son: Darren Shockley and wife Sara of Lawson; brother Oliver Shockley of Chamois MO; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Arvil was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Bob, Morris and Clete Shockley; one sister Irene McGraw; and one son-in law Floyd Minnick.
