Lexington – David J. Courtney, 74, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday at his home. He had been ill for six weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Musselman funeral home. The Rev. Harry Talley, pastor of the Christian church, will officiate. Burial will be at Lexington.
Mr. Courtney was born May 24, 1864 in Rodgersville, Tenn, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Farrell Courtney. He married Miss Susie Lewis May 9, 1886. For the last 25 years, his home had been near Lexington, where he was a farmer and dairyman.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Roy at home and Russell of Lexington, and two grandchildren.
