Frank A. Klabunde, 70, of 218 Robert Dr. died Thursday night in Sherman Hospital after an 18 month illness.
He retired three years ago after many years as operator of the Klabunde tavern and restaurant at Rt. 31 and McLean Boulevard. He had since made his home in Elgin with a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Shirley) Warner.
He was born in South Elgin Nov. 10, 1895. During World War I he served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Elgin Lodge 799.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Brown Klabunde, in 1963, and by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call after 5 today at the O'Connor Funeral Home where services will be at 3 Saturday. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
