Scott C. Akers, 48, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at his residence.

He was a native of Springfield, Mo., and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He served in the Army and was a school teacher at Field Elementary School in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Carol Bryant of Elizabethtown; a son, Kenneth Scott Akers of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Sarah Anne Akers of Cincinnati; his parents, Don and Betty Payne Akers of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Mark Akers of Bellevue, Wash.; and a sister, Carol Rauch of Springfield, Mo.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Craycroft officiating.

Visitation is from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home with a prayer vigil service at 6 p.m. Friday.
