Ann Cabaniss Hooper Daley, 70, of Fredericksburg passed away at her home on Monday, February 21, 2005. Ann was born June 22, 1934 in Newport News, Virginia to Francis and virgina (Watson) Hooper and graduated in 1952 from Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia. She married William Edward Daley, Sr on July 13, 1957 in Newport News, Virginia.
She and her former husband, William E. Daley, M.D. moved to Fredericksburg in 1963 and lived in the area for 25 years, raising their four children here. And was a member of several societies and clubs including the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Mayflower Society and local bridge clubs and was a friend to all. She also served at times as a substitute teacher at Montfort Academy here in Fredericksburg. At the time of her death, she was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her former husband, Dr. William E. Daley, Sr. of Destin, Florida; and four children, Mary Warren Daley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, William Edward Daley, Jr. of Newport News, Virginia, Susan Daley Sompayrac of Fredericksburg and Stephen Patrick Daley of Everett, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters and two grandsons.
There will be a funeral Mass in her honor on Friday, February 25 at 1 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Ann will be interred in Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News, Virginia beside her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the fmaily requests that donations be sent to the local American Heart Association chapter.
