On February 14, 1948 Catherine married Edward J. Becker. Catherine was a cheerful, loyal friend to all who knew her. She loved being a homemaker and hostess. She enjoyed cooking and baking – much appreciated by all her family. She volunteered with charitable organizations in Southold, Long Island, NY where she lived from 1971 to 2006. She was always a champion for veterans and she belonged to the Griswold Terry Glover Post 803 of the American Legion in Southold where she enjoyed many activities, especially Bingo.
She loved to travel and visited many European countries. She also took on the role of Travel Director for the Mattituck Seniors Club where she planned and directed tours for her seniors for about 25 years.
In 2007, Catherine moved to Golden, CO. She adjusted to the altitude after living her first 85 years entirely at sea level. She traveled around her new home and became a Coloradan with grace and joy.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Catherine Ferrere of Lakewood, CO, and daughter-in-law Audrey Maune, Plainview, NY. Also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James Duchman, both her husbands, her son, James, and a grandson, Daniel.
