I did not have the honor of knowing Kegan or his family. His story is well known in our area and I have visited his grave on many occasions just to pay respects. The following is a excerpt from a local newspaper article:

Other children playing near the hole told adults that Kegan had fallen in. Firefighters were at the scene minutes later, but the boy had already drowned inside the tank.
