Mr. Tingle died Nov. 1 in Palmer.
He was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Pearl and Orvil Tingle Sr.
He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1963 and worked for Jim Clark Motors.
Mr. Tingle served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk and was a Vietnam veteran. He later attended the University of Minnesota.
He worked for NAPA Quality Auto Parts as an inventory control manager in Alaska.
He married Polly Lucas on Nov. 25, 1970. She survives.
Other survivors include his parents; a son, John Howard Tingle, Meridian, Miss.; two daughters, Tammy Simon, Palmer, and Valerie Kashefska, Denver; two brothers, Edward Tingle and James Tingle, and two sisters, JoEtta Ryan and Anita Tingle, all of Lawrence; and three grandchildren.
