Jimmy W. Bumpus, 74, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in his residence. He was born May 9, 1935 in Clay, Ky. to James H. Bumpus and Georgia Watson Bumpus. He was a retired mill operator with Alcan Aluminum Products. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy E. Doan Bumpus in 2007. Survivors include his mother, Georgia Bumpus of Floral City, Fla.; three sons, Bruce Bumpus, Jon Bumpus, and James Bumpus and his wife Lecia; two daughters, Mary JoAnne Salyer and her husband John, and Sally Clark and her husband Mark all of Terre Haute; two sisters, Jackie Gramzow of Floral City, and Garnet Johnson of Clinton, Mich.; and six grandchildren, Jason Keck, Jaclyn Bumpus, Lauren Bumpus, Haylee Salyer, Emalie Bumpus, and Maris Clark. He was also preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Dottie Walsh. Jimmy was a member of Cross Tabernacle, West Terre Haute Lodge 687 F and AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine, Murdock Racing Club, and the Sons of American Legion Post 346. He was an avid fan of the American Legion Post 346 baseball team. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 in Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday
