Death: Apr. 21, 1969

Composer. Born in Palermo, Buenos Aires, he began to compose works for the tango and poetry music with folk musicians in the 1920s. Considered one the pioneers of the early chamamé, his long list of composed songs included "Guarani" and "Look", "A Guaraní a Virgin", "Panambí", "Esquer Zelaya Guaynita of the Soul ", "Crying Heart ", " My First Love", "My heart", "My hope is lost", "On the Paraná River", "Prisoner", "May God You", "Recuerdos Corrientes", "Red Earth" and "My Paraguay" to name a few. His extensive and magnificent oeuvre makes it undoubtedly one of the greatest poets of our music. He died in Villa Urquiza, Buenos Aires. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
