An employee of Roark Welding Company, Brownsburg, John Lawrence Roark, 65, Lizton, died at the West 10th Street Veterans Administration Medical Center in Indianapolis Saturday morning, November 1. He was a patient at the hospital since October 7. Born at Morgantown on November 25, 1914, he was a son of John Landis and Eleanor E. (Ruoff) Roark. Mrs. Roark [his mother] of Brownsburg survives. He was married October 27, 1945 to the former Lovinia Wills who also survives. He operated a blacksmith shop at Lizton and was a maintenance employee at Roark Welding. Affiliations include New Brunswick Church of Christ, Brownsburg Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and Brownsburg American Legion Post 331. Other survivors are two sons, John L. Roark, Jr, Pittsboro, and Edwin S. Roark, Mitchell; two daughters, Margaret L. Roark, Brownsburg and Juliet E. Shaw, Joplin, Missouri; three brothers, Louis S. and Charles F. Roark, both of Brownsburg, and Harry C. Roark, Avon; and four grandchildren. Both Rev James Dawes and Rev Melvin Mabrey conducted services Tuesday morning, November 4 at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown. Burial was in the Lizton K of P Cemetery.
