Services for Elfia Leach, age 86, Lizton, were Sept. 30, 1986 at the Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Jim Dawes and Rev. Garland Kincaid (her nephew) officiated. She died Sept. 27, 1986 in a Danville nursing home. Interment was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery. Born Sept. 13, 1900 in Lizton, she was a daughter of Solomon T. and Martha (Hall) Ellis. She graduated from the University of Illinois and taught in the Beech Grove High School for 10 years in the late 1920's and the early 1930's. From 1943 to 1969, she was the Lizton postmaster. A lifetime resident of Lizton, she was a member of the New Brunswick Church of Christ. She is survived by her widower, Ralph Leach, whom she married June 12, 1934, and a sister, Charlotte Kincaid, also of Lizton.

Elfia (Ellis) Leach), daughter of Solomon T. and Martha (Hall) Ellis, was born at Lizton on Sept. 13, 1900. Her father owned and operated a general store in the Ellis Building on Railroad Street in Lizton for 48 years. She had one brother, Dr. L. H. Ellis, a practicing physician in Lizton, and two sisters: Floris (Ellis) Cole, deceased, survived by one son, Robert E. Cole, and Charlotte (Ellis) Kincaid who was a teacher 35 years, with 30 years in the Lizton School. Elfia graduated from Lizton High School and attended Indiana University and the University of Illinois, of which she is a graduate. She taught in the Beech Grove High School from 1926 to 1934 and was Lizton Postmaster from April 1943 to February 1969.
