David was the beloved husband of Alice (Henning) for 32 wonderful years; loving father of Alyse (Tyler) Hammond and Michele (John) Nicely; dear grandfather of David Russell. He is also survived by his brother, Charles (Barbara Garbus), his sister, Anita (Jan) Huxman and many extended family and friends. As a young man, David was an avid sportsman which included high school football, lifeguarding, made state finals in ping pong, and played American Legion baseball. He was also a golfer who once made two holes in ones during one round. In high school, he sang in a quartet with Tommy James of the Shondells. He was a member of the Saladin Shriners. Later, other hobbies included, quarter horses, bowling and twenty wonderful years of boating. He was the Vice President of Sales at New Life Transport Parts Center. After he retired, he was a volunteer at the SCORE Association and Humane Society. He enjoyed sitting on his deck in the garden, bird watching, and spending time there with family and dogs. David had a great sense of humor, joy of life, was generous, kind and a friend to all he met.
