Son of Sagar Jarvinen and Anna Pemanaki Jarvinen.
Immigrated from Finland to the U.S. in 1898.
A 1914 directory in Ashtabula, Ohio lists a spouse, Hilma Jarvinen. A 1910 U. S. Census shows a John and Hilwa Jarvinon living in Gilbert, St. Louis, Minnesota, with children Liupa (b. 1903 MN); Helen (b. 1905 MN); John (1906 MN); and Elsie (b. 1908 MN). However, his death certificate notes that he was single.
The 1930 U.S. Census shows he lived with his widowed sister, Mary Hakkarairem (b. 1883 Finland) and her two children, Eino (b. 1912 Finland) and Martha (b. 1912 Finland).
Cause of death listed was chronic nephritis with pyelonephritis (kidney inflammation and infection) with general anasarca (extreme edema or swelling). Buried 1/2/1935.
