George was the son of Edward T. Brimmer & Chloe Adriana (Teel) Brimmer of Yermo, San Bernardino County, California.

George and his wife Dorothy had a son and a daughter. In 1940 George and Dorothy and their two children lived in Montebello, Los Angeles, California.

His father Edward was a "stationary engineer for the steam railroad" (Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad, now part of the Union Pacific) in Yermo, California in 1930. The family moved to Yermo on 25 Dec of 1918. Edward T. Brimmer & Chloe Adriana (Teel) Brimmer had three daughters and five sons.
