Zella was the daughter of Albert Lee Logsdon and Ora Lucy Breece Logsdon. Zella lived in Kansas City, KS area during her working years but returned to her roots in retirement. She married Ralph John Smith (1906-1968) in 1930. They divorced in the mid 1940s. She never remarried. Three children were born to this marraige: Frances (1932-2006), Bonnie and Wint Eugene.
