CUSTAR SERGEANT MISSING IN EUROPE
"Custar O, Jan 19, Staff Sergeant Donald G. Meyers has been missing in action in Europe since December 25, the War Departments has advised his parents, Mr. & Mrs. George Meyers of Custar.

A letter, dated December 23rd, 1944 was mailed from him was mailed from a hospital. His wife Mary Brisbin Meyers is making her home with Mrs. Robert Brisbin near Portage, Ohio."

Custar Ohio, March 15- Staff Sergt Donald G. Meyers, who was reported missing in action, has been killed in action, a War Department message informed his parents Mr. & Mrs George J. Meyers of Custar. He was aboard a troop ship sunk in the English Channel Christmas Day."
