U.S. Congressman. He attended Evansville Business College, then engaged in the manufacture of stoves and ranges. He was a City of Evansville Councilman, (1897-99), Mayor of Evansville, Indiana, (1905-08) and delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1908. In 1909, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-first and Sixty-second Congresses, serving until 1913. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he served as director of the Federal Reserve Bank at St. Louis, Missouri and Congressman John William Boehne, Jr. was his son.
