Jack William Adams, 86, of Liberty died Sunday, January 2, 2011, at E. M. R. M. C. in Danville. He was born Aug. 20, 1924 in Louisa, Ky. to the late Hobart Adams and Gladys Clark Adams. He was a proud Marine. Serving in the Pacific Theater during W W II and a veteran of the Korean War. He attended South Fork Baptist Church. He was a contractor and a 7th and 8th grade teacher at Broughtontown and Waynesburg. Survivors include his wife, Rose Brown Adams of 51 years; two sons, Steve Adams (Susan) of Kings Mountain and Pat Adams (Karla) of Danville; a daughter, Jackie Woodrum (Greg) of Liberty; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Adams and a sister, Lillian Lalash. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 from 4-8 p. m. at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday Jan. 5, 2011 at the Funeral Home. Rev. Rodney Lynch will be officiating the service. Burial will be in the McKinney Cemetery. Military Honors by U. S. Marines and Caswell Saufley Post #18 American Legion. Casket bearers will be Pat Adams, Steve Adams, Greg Woodrum, Bryce Perry, Lee Gadberry and Barry Moser.
