Alexander Graham Trotter was the fourth of five children born to Thomas Trotter (1800-1865) and Margaret Graham (1810-1847) of Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC. He married Lottie Lawson (1856-1934) in Perry, Alabama on 3 Aug 1878, and they had four children. Alexander was a Sergeant in Co. B, 53rd NC Reg't., Confederate States Army, and was present at the surrender at Appomattox.
