Conley Jefferson Bradley

Conley Jefferson Bradley, 81, of 114 Pine Street, Brevard, and formerly of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Dee and Ellie Bradley. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Johnny and Horace Bradley; and two sisters, Hallie Estepp and Lois Rickman.

He was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII. He was retired from Olin Corporation after 34 years of service. A graduate of Brevard College, he was a member of and served on the board of the Brevard College Alumni Association. He was post president of the Brevard Lions Club, where he served as the "Broom Man" and the "Candy Man."

He was a deacon and former Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Brevard. He was a loving Christian husband, father, grandfather and great=grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends, the family said.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Dorothy L. Bradley of the home, a son, Jeff Bradley and wife Linda of Arden, a daughter, Nancy O'Halloran and husband bill of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, at Pisgah Gardens and a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church of Brevard. Rev. Tommy Crocker, Rev. Bill Ross and Tondra Hughes gave the eulogy.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m., March 11, at Moore Funeral home.
