Married Armand Madden Doche August 20, 1938, becoming mother to his daughter Glynanna whose birth mother Helen Louise Baker Doche had died several years earlier. Son Jimmy Cal was born to Armand and GiGi in 1940.

After Armand Doche's death in 1955 she became the beloved second wife of John Lawton McCarty on April 3, 1958. McCarty's first wife Susie Lutitia Baird had died the previous year.

GiGi's home was the center for many happy gatherings of her and John's grandchildren. She was a patient and loving woman.
