--Vera Ballard, 75, Golden Age Nursing Home, Marin, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1981, at the home, after an illness of several years. A former resident of Amboy, she had lived at the nursing home since 1964.
--She was born in Amboy on Jan. 17, 1906, the daughter of Henry Guy and Minnie Rose Ballard.
--Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Pence of Marin, and Luvine Taylor of Emporia, Kansas.
--Miss Ballard was a member of the First Friends Church in Marion.
--Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Laird Funeral Home in Amboy, the Rev. Kenneth Hinshaw officiating. Burial will be in Park Law Cemetery, near Amboy.
