Laura was born November 15, 1957, in Montebello, Calif., to Orville Stockton and Helen Stockton.
She married James Hignett on Oct. 2, 1998, at the Ardmore Lake Murray Chapel. Laura attended Corona High School, in Corona, Calif., graduating in 1975. She attended Murray State College and graduated on May 9, 1997, with her Associates in Applied Science Degree. She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she was one class credit away from receiving her Bachelor's Degree.
Laura worked at DJK Enterprises for five years. She loved her job. She retired in 2004 after she was diagnosed with a debilitating illness. Laura was loved by all and she always had a smile. She had many friends from all over the United States.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Olga H. Gray; and her mother-in-law, Delilah Darling.
Laura is survived by her mother of Corona, Calif.; husband of Ardmore, Okla.; sons, Jeremy Campbell of Taft, Okla., Travis Hignett of Ardmore, Okla., and Jeff Dehaven and wife, Stephanie, Napa, Calif.; daughters, Heather Gibson and husband, David of Nixa, Mo., and Lacie Hignett of Ardmore, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Devin, and Hayden Gibson of Nixa, Mo., Shastidy Hignett of Ardmore, Elijah Campbell and Holly Hanus of Gig Harbor, Wash., Aaron J. and Meghan Dehaven of Napa, Calif.; sisters, Cathy Alton and husband, Tom, Deborah Stockton, all of Corona, Calif., Michelle Ridge and husband, Leroy of Ardmore, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will be receiving guests this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home.
