HENRY, IL - Richard Louis Supancic, 59, of Henry, Ill., died at 7:24 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard fought a hard battle with cancer and was ready to be with his heavenly Father.
Richard was born in Pittsburg, Kan., on April 4, 1950, to Tony and Madeline Boggio Supancic. They preceded him in death. He was the youngest of their three sons.
His brothers, Tony (Jennie) of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Ronnie of Atlanta, Ga., survive him.
He graduated from Wichita North High School in Wichita, Kan., and attended the Kansas School of Business.
Richard was employed at Caterpillar Inc. for 36 years, retiring April 1, 2009.
He married Diane Jones on Oct. 28, 2006, in Peoria, Ill. She was his soul mate and best friend. They enjoyed their short time together, traveling and spending time together on their Harley. Diane took Richard to Wrigley Field and he's been a Chicago Cubs fan ever since.
He was a loving father to Monica (Wesley) Reed and Gavin of Marietta, Okla., and April Zainey of Peoria. He also loved his stepchildren, Leon (Rosa) Pyron of Imperial, Calif., Julie (Dan) Brandenburg of Grand Detour, Ill., and Lisa (Dave) Durlacher of Mundelein, Ill. Richard was very proud of his grandson, Roger Thomas of Marietta, Okla. His stepgrandchildren are Alicia Jimenez, Andrew Car-Skaden, Sunni, Joseph and Kristen Pyron, and Dane, Reese and Bryce Durlacher.
Special thanks go to his wonderful friends, Dick and Nancy Durr, Rob and Jan DeTrempe and Bobby Heinz. They always were there when needed, emotionally and spiritually. Pastor James Clark and the church family of Crossroads Baptist Church in Peoria were invaluable for their help, dedication and love for Richard and Diane.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Pastor James Clark will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until time of the service. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.
