Former Stronghurst Resident Dies
Special to the Hawkeye Gazette
Stronghurst, Ill.-Mrs. Myrtle
Lant Packer, 62, died at Long
Beach, Calif., Monday, following
a major operation.
She was a resident of the
Stronghurst and Olena communities
until the last few years, when
she resided in Long Beach.
The body will arrive in Stronghurst
the latter part of the week, accompanied
by Packer and Mrs. Bessie Stenzel.
No funeral arrangements have been
made.
Surviving are her husband, John Packer;
2 daughters; Mrs. Bessie Stenzel; Long
Beach; Mrs. Goldie Leiper, Washington,
D.C.; five sons, Wilbur, Lee, Frank,
and Virgil Davis, all serving in the
navy; and John Davis, who is living
in Baton Rouge, La; and one brother,
Harvey Lant, of Maywood,Ill.
