Susanne (née Rochet) Garrigues was born about 1679 in France. Nothing more specific is conclusively known of her origins. She married Matthieu Garrigues in May 1702 at the Walloon Church of The Hague. It is believed that both she and Matthieu were French Huguenots. Matthieu is also interred in Christ Church Cemetery but there is no extant marker. They arrived in Philadelphia from St. Christopher sometime about 1713-1714 and their descendants are numerous in America.
