CASWELL, Arthur L., age 57, of Durand died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at his residence, A life celebration will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Streeter Funeral Home, 507 W. Maple, Byron. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation at the funeral home Monday from 2-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Caswell family. Art was born in Jackson, MI on April 13, 1952 the son of Kenneth L. and Alberta Davalene (Saunders) Caswell. He lived in the Durand area since 1991. Art was a licensed ham radio operator- KB8Q- " The Blow Torch of Durand". He was a DJ at many local radio stations, where he went by the name of Art Van. Surviving are his Daughter- Andrea Caswell of Highland; Grandchildren: Madison, Abby and Cade Caswell; Son and step-son of Kenneth (Juanita) Caswell of Gladwin, Arthur McLamb of N. Carolina and Wayne Shaw of Byron; Sister Lee Ann (Mark) Saunders of Columbus, OH, Caring better half Thelma Woodruff and family of North Branch; Niece Monica Callan and nephew Jeremy Fridley; Best friend Amos Scrivener. Many step siblings, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Alberta "Bertie" and sister Pam Caswell Arrangements by Streeter Funeral Home, Byron Michigan.
