Obituary:
Mr. Alton Zadok Howard, 28 of Savannah, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at his residence following a sudden illness.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 30, 1983, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life before moving to Savannah five years ago. Mr. Howard was a 2001 graduate of Pierce County High School and was a graduate of Georgia Southern University School of Nursing. He was a registered nurse at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital in Savannah and dearly loved his job. Over the years he had received several awards and accommodations for his work. Mr. Howard was a member of Patterson Baptist Church and loved to travel.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Clifford Alton & Clara Elizabeth Guest Howard; his paternal grandparents who raised him, Alton & Grace King Howard; and his maternal grandfather, B. D. Strickland.

Survivors include two brothers and a sister-in-law, Kelly Howard of Blackshear and Cliff & Michelle Howard of Waycross; his maternal grandmother, Fannie Strickland of Alma; a nephew; two special cousins, Mollie Riggins and Elizabeth Riggins; and several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Visitation:
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, July 2, 2012, from 6 until 8 pm.
Service:
Memorialization will be by cremation.
