John Hughes Stotlemeyer, 92, of Timber Ridge No. 1, and a veteran of the Spanish-American War, died Friday morning at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Hancock, he was the son of the late John D. and Amanda (Bain) Stotlemeyer.

He had beem employed by Westinghouse, prior to his retirement. He had served as magistrate for Hancock for 10 years and as a commissioner of the District Court for four years. He was a member of the Spanish-American War Veterans of Pittsburgh. He was a past president of the Men's Democratic Club of Hancock.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Heasley) Stotlemeyer; one son, John Ward Stotlemeyer of Hancock; one step-son, James A. Cunninghan of Livonia, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Murray of Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Grove Funeral Home in Hancock. The Rev. Harold C. Wolf will officiate.

Burial will be in Hancock Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 9. Full military graveside services will be conducted by Webster B. Harrison Post 26 of the American Legion in Hancock.
