Emil Lange was born in Holstein, Germany , February 28, 1885 and departed this life May 1, 1946 at the Sioux Valley hospital at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after undergoing a complicated operation on perforated ulcerations. He reached the age of 61 years and two months. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

He was united in marriage to Marie Behrman April 10, 1911. This year they had been married 35 years. Soon after their marriage they came to the United States of America where they first made their home in Eagle township. Three years later they moved to Garfield township where they lived until the spring of 1942 when the y retired from the farm and made their home in Rock Valley.

Eleven of his brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn at his departure his wife, four daughters and two sons. Mrs. Albert Rehder of Hawarden , Mrs. Veryl Benson, Carl Lange and Mrs. Woodrow Lohman of Rock Rapids, Mrs. Kenneth Brinkhous of Doon and Emil Jr. of Rock Valley; thirteen grandchildren and one brother, William in
Germany.
